By signing up for a class, you are agreeing to adhere to all policies set forth by Music Together of Union County. Please read the following policies in their entirety prior to your first class, and be sure to share them with any other adults who will be attending class with your child

Our Covid-19 policies have been informed by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Department of Health and are subject to change.

As of spring 2022 we are making classes mask optional.

By attending classes in person, you voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19.

We take the health risks of Covid-19 seriously and need your cooperation to mitigate the risks to all participants. Our teachers reserve the right to send a family home from class if they feel the protocols are not being followed.

IMPORTANT POLICIES REGARDING VACCINATIONS AND MASKING:

It is our belief that during the 45 minutes that we make music with you and your children it is part of our job to do our best to protect everyone from any possible spread of the Covid 19 virus or any variant.

We are following the CDC guidelines and the NJ guidelines The guidelines are changing regularly and we will keep up with those changes to the best of our abilities.Due to the unpredictable changes in COVID-19 as well as the constant changes in CDC recommendations and state policies, Music Together of Union County reserves the right to change its policies at any time. No refunds will be given in the event of a policy change.

Thank you for your cooperation!

IMPORTANT POLICY REGARDING CLASSES AND COVID:

Music Together reserves the right to switch to online classes (Zoom) should it become necessary. No refunds or credits will be given if we need to switch to virtual classes.

OTHER MUSIC TOGETHER OF UNION COUNTY POLICIES:

Make-up Classes:

 MAKEUP POLICY BEGINNING FALL 2021:

If you miss your regularly scheduled Music Together class for any reason, you may schedule a make-up class. You can schedule two makeups on the website during fall, winter, spring and summer semesters for each registered child, and one make-up during the Holiday interim session, ( when it is not zoom) . They must be taken during the current semester and positively cannot be "carried over".

Please schedule your makeup as soon as you know you are going to miss a class. We often see an end-of-semester rush and are very limited by space constraints, so please schedule your make-ups within 2 weeks of missing the class to avoid disappointment. No “drop-in” makeups will be allowed. You must preregister for makeups online at least 12 hours before the desired makeup class is scheduled to begin.

Sorry, no refunds or credits are given due to missed makeups.

To schedule a make-up class use our online Make-Up Scheduler. Log into your account. On the home page , click on “Enrolled Families”then click on  “Make up my Class”. If you know you will not be attending a previously scheduled make-up class, please be sure to cancel it or it will count as one make up.   Not all classes will be available for makeups. Space is limited.

Siblings and Other Guests:

SPECIAL NOTE: NO GUESTS PERMITTED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.

Whole family music-making at home is extremely valuable to your child's music development, and attending class occasionally helps family members feel more comfortable joining in. We have always welcomed (and encouraged) additional parents, grandparents, and other family members and caregivers to our classes with no need to ask.

Given the current circumstances, however, it is imperative that we have accurate records of who is in the classroom at all times, and our classroom space is extremely limited in order to ensure proper spacing between participants. We therefore request at this time that attendance be limited to registered children and caregivers only. We look forward to welcoming all family members to join in our classes as soon as circumstances allow.

UPDATE AS OF FALL 2023: Please contact the office to request bringing other family members. If there is space in the class, it shouldn’t be a problem.

Health Policy:

The health of all classroom participants is important to us, so we take measures to ensure the cleanliness of our classroom and limit exposure to germs. We take time to sanitize our classroom space, instruments, and materials before and after each class with a child-safe cleaning solution. If you or your child are sick, please stay home from class and schedule a make-up. If anyone in your household contracts Covid-19, it is essential that you notify us immediately.

Plan for Instruments/Props in Classes:

The latest information on Covid-19 transmission states that Covid-19 is airborne and that transmission from surfaces is rare. Instruments will be disinfected between or after classes (which has always been our practice).  Families are welcome to bring their own instruments and props from home rather than using those provided by Music Together of Union County.

Snacks:

Please avoid bringing snacks into the classroom. We sometimes enroll children with allergies who will react to “dust” from cookies or other snacks that have a minimal amount of a nut product in it. Bottles, cups and breastfeeding in class is fine when necessary. Water Ok.

Class Cancellation Policy:

If a class is canceled due to inclement weather or for any other reason, we reserve the right to provide the makeup class either online, pre-recorded, or in-person at a later date.

Holiday closures will be announced at the beginning of each semester. You will be notified by phone ONLY if your class in cancelled due to teacher illness or extraordinary circumstances.

IMPORTANT: If class is cancelled due to inclement weather it will be posted on our website home page as well as our Facebook page. An outgoing voice message will also be left on the office phone line 732-718-6639. We generally go by the Scotch Plains school system for all classes when determining inclement weather closures. You will be notified by e mail.

WINTER 2024  Please note that if the school system has a delayed opening, we will cancel classes and you will be notified VIA EMAIL. Please be sure your email is up-to-date and we are on your contact list.  Emails may end up in spam if we are not in your contact list. Delayed opening decisions will also will be posted on the website, Facebook page and office voicemail.

In person classes cancelled due to weather may be held via Zoom during regular class time but is highly unlikely.

Sorry, no refunds can be given if you are unable attend makeup dates.
